For more than 50 years now, gays and lesbians have enjoyed memorable holidays on the fun, Mykonos island. If you are wondering what gay people usually undertake in Mykonos, here are some suggestions.
A Perfect Holiday Destination
Who doesn’t love the Mediterranean summer sun, idyllic beaches, and fun lively nightlife? We’re proud that Mykonos has embraced it all. It’s all especially embraced by gay holidaymakers from around the globe. There’s a good reason Mykonos has earned its reputation for being such a great place to be on holiday.
Mykonos is a great escape no matter which month you choose to visit. But be aware that Mykonos becomes less busy and gay outside its tall season, which runs from approximately the end of May until the mid of September.
Many restaurants, hotels, and other establishments block their doors until the following May, so be warned. It’s also essential to note that Mykonos becomes a markedly older place outside of the high season.

In our last blog we talked about how difficult it is to visit this island on a budget. We decided not lengthy after arrival that we would throw caution to the wind and ease open our purse strings for a fun packed time here instead of trying to eek out our two night reside on our limited flashpacking budget.
While we were content to eat as cheaply as possible we decided that a visit to Mykonos for two homosexual men would be incomplete unless we had sampled some of the same-sex attracted nightlife on offer and there was no way we could do that cheaply.

Instead execute what we did and have a look at comments in trip advisor and in the same-sex attracted travel guides and discover a selection that convene your needs and tastes. We ended up sampling three which gave us a flavour of the atmosphere and the range of the gay nightlife here on the island. Mykonos has long enjoyed its worldwide reputation as a gay vacation hotspot. Much more so than other places I’ve written about, such as Sitges or Gran Canaria – probably only rivaling Amsterdam in terms of reputation. But similar to Amsterdam, that reputation seems to be at least partially fading. That doesn’t imply, however, that I don’t recommend visiting Mykonos, especially if one of your prime motivations is to get your rocks off. Much to the hostile, Mykonos is a superb destination for gay couples and singles who long to have a bit of naughty fun. However, I was surprised that the homosexual aspects of this island are much more subtle than, for example, Sitges, which is one of the few places in the world where I’ve felt that gay men are in the majority.
