Gay nightlife promoter speaks out amid legal fallout over The Q nightclub

The legal drama and infighting engulfing the now-shuttered nightclub famous as The Q took a new turn earlier this month when Novel York Supreme Court Determine Suzanne J. Adams threw out all four of the former creative director’s allegations against the club’s former executive producer.

Adams rejected accusations by former innovative director Frankie Sharp that Allan Pikus (who also goes by Alan Picus) caused a breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and accounting in his capacity as executive producer at The Q. Furthermore, the decide dismissed the accusations with prejudice, meaning Sharp cannot sue Pikus on the same or modified allegations, said Pikus’ lawyer Thomas Shanahan, PC.

Last year, Shanahan, who is openly same-sex attracted, was honored with a Gay City News 2022 Impact Award.

The ruling in Keen v. Bar Fluid, et al. came April 12, two weeks after The Q suddenly closed Rally 29.

The Q’s troubles began last summer when Acute, a gay nightlife promoter, sued the club’s owner, Robert “Bob” Fluet and Prevent Fluid, LLC, in June 2022 after Fluet fired Sharp in May 2022. Sharp al

Setting the record straight: The Q nightclub owner speaks out

In the latest legal fallout over the now-shuttered LGBTQ nightclub The Q, the bar’s former artistic director and his attorney are on the defense over defamation and other claims against the club and its owner, Robert “Bob” Fluet.

The legal battle dates back to a controversy that emerged just a little under a year after The Q hosted a splashy opening on Pride weekend in June of 2021. The club was the communicate of the town.

Fluet’s vision for the nightclub was to bring the LGBTQ community together for one big party nightly.

“I was very proud. I was very excited,” Fluet said. “I brought in people I thought could aid me in this people to really, really thrust it.”

But that vision wouldn’t last. Its former resourceful director, Frankie Sharp, sued the ownership of The Q and made accusations against Fluet and The Q’s former executive producer,Allan Pikus (who also goes by Alan Picus), in two differentcontroversial complaints that were publicized in the press and on social media in June 2022. Sharp accused Picus of sexual misconduct with patrons in front of employees, as well as racism, sexism, and discrimination,
