I have to start this episode off with a funny position of coincidences. There is this wonderful podcast called Stuff you Missed in History Class which does in-depth shows either on overlooked figures in history, or events that reveal a different angle on our world than you get from the accepted texts. And although they don’t have a specific focus on queer history, they have intersected with a number of topics that I’ve covered on this podcast. Sometimes we’ve intersected very closely and entirely by coincidence.
For example, I did a present on Aphra Behn support in February and they did a show on Aphra Behn the next month. (I know it’s complete coincidence because I’m sure they don’t even know my podcast exists.) And then in July of , we both did shows on Catalina de Erauso. So when I listened to their show in May on the Ladies of Llangollen, I figured I needed to avoid scheduling that topic for a while just, you know, to avoid looking like too much of a copycat. After six seasons as Women’s Soccer chief coach, Michele Cornish resigned from her post to become the Athletic Director at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, a prep school in Faribault, Minn. At a meeting on Wednesday, Cornish informed the team of her ruling to leave. After initially rebuf ng an approach from Shattuck-St. Mary’s a year ago, she chose to move on.
Molly Adams ’20 expressed gratitude to Cornish for the role she played in the team’s success while also looking to the future.
