A new era of daytime television is here, and Memphis has a reason to celebrate. CBS’ highly anticipated soap opera Beyond the Gates is making history, and among its talented cast is none other than Memphis-area native Brandon Claybon.
Claybon, originally from Oakland, Tennessee, plays Martin Richardson, a driven congressman determined to leave his mark on history. Tracking in his grandfather’s footsteps, Martin pursued a career in politics and now lives outside “the gates” with his husband and children. His ambition knows no bounds—he has his sights set on becoming the first openly queer Black president.
