Celebrate the warmth and pleasure of the season with the San Francisco Lgbtq+ Men’s Chorus at our beloved Bay Area tradition, Holiday Spectacular 2024! On December 6 and 7 at the Sydney Goldstein Theater, expect 90 minutes filled with festive cheer, unforgettable music, and plenty of humor that will have you laughing out loud and singing along. This year’s theme, “Together,” embodies the spirit of community, love, and connection that pours from the stage in every note.
In a special twist, our cherished Home for the Holidays concert is moving to the grand Davies Symphony Hall this year, as our usual abode, the Castro Theatre, undergoes renovations. We’re ensuring there’s still a place for everyone to gather on Christmas Eve, with two heartwarming performances at 4 PM and 7 PM. “Hooray for Holidays” celebrates the season with the Chorus singing over twenty timeless holiday melodies from the golden age of cinema’s Meet Me in St. Louis, Ivory Christmas, and Mame to contemporary classics The Polar Express, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Love Actually. The program will highlight standards from the Excellent American Songbook to hits made famous by pop icons Bruce Springsteen, The Beach Boys, and Wham! Los Angeles' favorite holiday tradition will be more special this year as GMCLA is joined by five-time Emmy Award winner and Grammy nominee Wayne Brady. With dance numbers and a few surprises in store, “Hooray for Holidays” will surely be something to shout about!
